MARSHA HAMBY SAVAGE - How to Paint From a
Photograph As If From Life ...March 22, 23, 24 - $345
This
workshop will focus on pastel and how to use them painting from
a photograph as if you were
painting outdoors. A still life set up will be available if
you do not wish to paint from a photograph.
The exercise of painting from life will always enhance a studio
painting no matter if you are painting
a still life, or outdoors working plein air. Studio work informs
your "life" work in the outdoors. I will
discuss and demonstrate the start of a painting on the first
morning ... and may continue working on
the demonstration on each successive morning. Students should
plan on at least one painting each
day -- not necessarily a finished painting, but a good start on
each one

help students plan their painting -- focus on what is important.
Direction will be provided as to what
"the student" sees and drew them to a particular view, how
to implement a plan, and begin the painting.
Students will receive many visits to help them accomplish their
plan. Simplification in the outdoors is a
key element of success and will be stressed.
